  • Sunday Afternoon Drive

In the highest tradition of southern Sundays, after church, I went for a drive through the country.  Now, normally this drive is a rather brief affair.  But THIS Sunday, it lasted all afternoon and into the evening.  I have discovered that the best time for pictures in my "Seats of Power" series is during the weekends because no one is at the courthouse.  So, I started at church, went to Dublin (38 miles), then to Wrightsville (18 miles), Sandersville (19 miles), Sparta (15 miles), Eatonton (27 miles), and then back home through Milledgeville (40 miles).  Yes, I drove 157 miles for no other reason than pictues.  And here they are!

I called Morgan to see if she "wanted food" as I was heading back from my courthouse shoots yesterday.  Well, she said yes, and since it was golden hour (1 - 1 1/2 hours before sunset) and the park was on the way... I talked her into doing some pictures.

About Me

  • I have just finished my undergraduate degree at Georgia College & State University. This fall, I begin the Masters of Public Administration program, also at GCSU. Eventually, I plan to get a PhD and teach political science at the university level. I am active in local politics, school organizations, and my church. I am from a small town of less than 600 people and which boasts one traffic light. I am the grandson of ironworkers and share croppers. But, I have walked the halls of the Capitol, gripped the hand of the President of the United States, and considered members of Congress personal friends. I am not bragging on myself, but on my country. The United States is a place where anyone can achieve anything.
